Business Tours

Business tours help students learn more about occupations within that industry and the work environment. Tours last approximately 30-90 minutes.

In the past, Bridges has supported tours of local businesses by reimbursing schools for the cost of traveling to and from a business.

Due to covid-19, group activities such as tours have been postponed during the 20-21 school year. Decisions will be made in summer of 2021 related to the continuation of this program offering.

As a part of the reimbursement process, student have completed a post-tour survey, educators completed the teacher tour evaluation, and those forms were mailed with the Bridges travel reimbursement form within 30 days of your tour to have the cost of your travel to and from the business covered by Bridges. Only one tour is allowed per teacher/class with a maximum $100 travel allowance.

Tour Watches DNR in Action

Students watched the DNR work at the Walleye Egg Stripping Station. The station is one of only five places in Minnesota where eggs are taken, fertilized, washed and then brought to the hatchery in Brainerd. Once hatched, eggs are used to stock lakes with walleyes who have the Mississippi River genetic strain.  It was an incredible experience.
